EUROPEAN POKER TOUR ANNOUNCES FIRST-EVER MONACO
CUP FOR GRAND FINAL FESTIVAL
€1,100 buy-in event will have a €500,000 guarantee
ONCHAN, ISLE OF MAN – April 22, 2013 –
The European Poker Tour announced today that there will be an inaugural
€1,100 Monaco Cup (event 26) as part of the 50-strong event
offering at the PokerStars and Monte-Carlo®Casino European Poker
Tour Grand Final. It will have a guaranteed prize pool of €500,000.
The newly named event, which will take place from May 11-15, forms
part of the spectacular 11-day festival at the PokerStars and Monte-Carlo®Casino
European Poker Tour Grand Final, which runs from May 6 -15.
Neil Johnson, Head of Live Poker Operations for PokerStars, said:
“This is the first time that we have included an event of
this nature in the schedule for the EPT Grand Final. This event
will feature three Day 1s and will give players the opportunity
to re-enter on Day 1B and Day 1C. With a great structure and three
different chances at the coveted first prize, everyone will get
their shot at a piece of the first-ever €500,000 Monaco Cup.”
Seat only and full package satellites for the Monaco Cup are running
now on PokerStars.
The full package includes tournament buy-in, flights, accommodation
and money for expenses worth €3,000
The announcement of the Monaco Cup in the EPT Grand Final event schedule follows
a recent update from EPT President, Edgar Stuchly, who confirmed
that the Season 9 EPT
Grand Final will feature the largest festival of cash games in
the tour’s history. The EPT will have full control of the
cash games, which will run from 12pm to 6am every day, with a favourable
rake (see chart) and enormous variety to choose from.
