Most Big Casino Moguls Expanding into New Jersey
November 29, 2013
The big news in online gambling recently was the first online casinos
going live in the state of New Jersey. The state is the third, behind
Delaware and Nevada to legalize online gambling within the state
and it could be the big winner as the state has far more residents
than either Delaware or Nevada. Many of the big online casino moguls
are getting into the action in New Jersey including Jim Murren,
CEO of MGM Resorts International. While many of the top casino operators
are onboard with online gambling in New Jersey, there are a few
holdouts.
Murren owns about a third of the casinos on the Las Vegas strip
and he is also the co-owner of the Borgata in Atlantic City. He
is wasting no time getting into the action with online gambling
in New Jersey. His company has partnered with Bwin.Party Digital
Entertainment which is the world’s largest publicly traded
online gambling company.
Another of the big casino moguls, Gary Loveman, CEO of Caesars
Entertainment believes that online gambling in the United States
is on the horizon and he is preparing for the day that online gambling
is legal in all states.
One of the holdouts for now is Steve Wynn who is chief executive
officer of Wynn Resorts. He said he is happy to let others take
the lead. He may not be sitting on the sidelines for long though
as the dye has been cast and online gambling is now gaining traction
into the United States.
