American Gambling Association aims to Bust up the Mob
Online casino gamblers and operators can take heart at the American Gambling Association’s recent efforts to make it easier for gamblers to gain access to online sports gambling.
The American Gambling Association will devote the year of 2016 towards education of the benefits of online sports betting. The theory is that if sports bettors had more access to online casino gambling and sportsbooks they would be far less inclined to bet with the mob and organized crime. The AGA goes on to state that as long as the pigheaded rules against online casino gambling and sports betting continues, gamblers will turn to the mob to gain access to gambling and those dollars that could be spent in a legal enterprise that would also be taxed would instead be in the tax free hands of organized crime.
The AGA has released studies that they have done in which they were able to demonstrate the growth of mafia outlets in New York and Philadelphia as well as drug runners in Texas thanks to gambling. Millions of dollars that are originally generated from gambling are being invested by organized crime for other more dangerous enterprises.
The AGA has pointed out the obvious threat to public safety and the spread of organized crime thanks to the stupidity of not allowing easier public access to online casinos and online sportsbooks.
Jim Murren, MGM Resorts International Chairman and CEO is also the Chairman of the AGA and will continue his efforts to expand online casino gambling.
