Captain Cooks opened back in 1999, and at one time had the claim to fame of paying the largest online jackpot ever when the Major Millions jackpot of $1,594,649.21 was won there on the 30th May 2002. Unfortunately that lucky winner was not me, although I have been playing online there almost since their inception.
Captain Cooks Casino is named after the famous explorer Captain James Cook and the casino is themed around his ship – even complete with the authentic creaking of the ships timbers as sound effects. The customer service staff are the crew, and you may receive communication from someone signing themselves as The First Mate or an Able Seaman…..
The software is Microgaming Viper and there is also a flash casino and a separate poker site. Captain Cooks was once part of Integrity Casinos, but fairly recently were taken over by Casino Rewards, incorporating the casino rewards loyalty program, and merging captain cooks loyalty points with those gained from other Casino Rewards Casinos. The loyalty scheme is quite generous, and regular players receive quite a few comps and other freebies.
Customer service is now slower than it once was, but still very helpful and they will allow players to flush withdrawals on request. The minimum withdrawal amount is $50, and withdrawals stay pending for 48 hours (unless you request otherwise). A Neteller withdrawal takes on average two working days, whereas check payments will take up to 10 working days.
