Review:
I must admit to not being a great fan of the original Playtech software it was just a little bit too clunky, and the games were just a little bit bland. So I didn't exactly jump to download Monaco Gold when they sent me an email, inviting me to try the new improved software with a bonus thrown in as a sweetener.
But download I did, and I was pleasantly surprised to see that Playtech had addressed many of the issues which had left them lagging in the fun stakes. One of the most useful additions is the ability to open several games at once, which suits me as I like to flit between videopoker and slots without closing the games. Another good addition is the autoplay feature, which means you can set those slots spinning whilst you play something else the only downside of playing multiple games is a slight delay as your bank balance updates and of course a more rapidly dwindling bank balance!
Monaco Gold have a reasonable selection of games, including the addition of two new bonus slots Queen of the Pyramids with free spins and a wheel of fortune bonus round, and the cash guzzling Spin 2 Million. They have a fair selection of videopokers, including several multi hand options, plus some games which perhaps you may not traditionally see in a casino - Jackpot Darts, Bonus Bowling and Genies Hi Lo.
Although customer service is very fast and responsive, cashout times could be improved, it currently takes nearly a week for a Neteller withdrawal to be processed. There is a maximum cashout of $10,000 per month, which upset my girlfriend as she won just over $22,500 and wasn't happy at having to delay her shopping spree!
As with most casinos, comp points are earned on all wagers, but a nice touch at Monaco Gold is that these can be cashed in for either casino credits or merchandise in a weekend my girlfriend managed to rack up enough points for a nice techie pointy thing whereas I managed a mere $3 credit.
In all Monaco Gold offer nice relaxed play, the graphics are top quality, and the games run very smoothly. There are a couple of points which could be improved the ability to flush withdrawals and a quicker cashout pending time, but overall they offer a good quality playing experience.
